Winter Netball 2021 Registrations are now closed for 2021.

Netball is a Term 2-3 sport for 2021 where Takapuna Primary School students (both girls and boys) are able to register and play winter league netball in the appropriate TPS netball team outside of school hours (after school).

Netball Winter League Details:

TPS participates within the Netball North Harbour Mother Earth Future Ferns for Years 1, 2 & 3 and Primary Netball for Year 4-6, plus the Junior Netties Saturday Netball for years 5 & 6 only. Registration into all of the Netball North Harbour winter league competitions is through the school, TPS.

Mother Earth Future Ferns & Primary Netball games are played at Netball North Harbour Courts & Onewa Arena at 44 Northcote Road, Northcote, on the below scheduled days, after school.

Junior Netties games are played at Westlake Girls High School on Saturdays only.

Winter league, Future Ferns &Primary Netball begins in the first week of Term 2 running throughout Terms 2 & 3 for 10-12 weeks.

Playing & Competition Information:

Teams & Grades:

TPS will aim to have the following teams depending on numbers registered:

Year 1 & 2 Mother Earth Future Ferns 4 v 4 Netball - 5 to 6 players per team.

Year 3 Mother Earth Future Ferns 5 v 5 Netball - 6 to 7 players per team.

Year 4, 5 & 6 Primary 7 v 7 Netball - 8 to 9 players per team.

Year 5 & 6 Saturdays Junior Netties Netball 7 v 7 – 8 to 9 players per team.

NOTE: The above teams being provided are subject to there being enough players registered with TPS to make up the above team numbers. We can not provide these teams if there are not enough players registered for each age group or day.

Both girls and boys can play in our TPS netball teams and Netball North Harbour Competitions. Depending on the number of TPS students who register to play will depend on the make-up of the teams each year.

Teams are graded by Netball North Harbour throughout the initial few weeks of games before moving into the competition games.

Games:

Years 1 & 2: Teams play in the indoor arena on Monday afternoons each week. Games scheduled between 4pm and 5.20pm.

Year 3: Teams play on the outdoor courts on Monday afternoons each week. Games scheduled between 4pm and 5pm.

Year 4: Teams play on the outdoor courts on Monday afternoons each week. Games scheduled between 4pm and 5pm.

Year 5 & 6: Teams play on the outdoor courts on Wednesday afternoons each week. Games scheduled between 4pm and 7.10pm.

Year 5 &6 Junior Netties: Teams play at Westlake Girls High School covered court complex each week. Games scheduled Saturdays, between 8.30am and early afternoon.

Draws:

Draws will be published on https://netballnorthharbour.co.nz/draws.php for the season.

Uniforms:

Players are to play in their TPS Sports Top and a TPS netball/sports skort provided by TPS on loan for the season only. All players MUST wear appropriate running/sports/netball shoes. NO bare feet.

Umpires:

Year 1 & 2 team coaches umpire the 4 v 4 netball games.

Year 3 to Year 6 teams require a netball umpire for each game (umpires are not provided as part of the competition.

Year 3 to 6 teams can request a paid umpire through NNH. Umpires are paid $10 per game directly from the team on the day. Umpires can be requested through NNH.

Coaches can umpire if necessary (Yrs 3 to 6), however are unable to coach their team while umpiring.

Fees:

TPS Netball Fees are:

Year 1, 2 & 3 players = $60 per player.

Year 4 to Year 6 = $70 per player.

All netball fees to be paid at the either the school office or online payment portal. All fees must be paid by 10 th July 2020.

Team Practices:

Once coaches for each team are established, team training times will be arranged and communicated by each coach/manager to their teams and parents. Teams generally practice either before, during or after school at the TPS courts.

Coaching:

Our TPS netball teams require and rely on parent support in coaching and managing teams. If your child/ren are registered to play within a TPS team and you are able to assist with coaching or managing please indicate this on your child/ren’s registration. We need volunteer coaches and managers to help!

Spring League Netball

Teams and players from Takapuna Primary School normally participate within the Netball North Harbour Primary Spring League in Term 4. However, Takapuna Primary School does not facilitate or register netball spring league teams. Spring league is an opportunity for groups of friends or players to get together and play netball in a ‘no points, no winners’ competition.

Parents/Coaches/Managers facilitate, co-ordinate and manage the full netball spring league process, including team registration and payment of team registration fees directly to Netball North Harbour.

Registration into the Netball North Harbour primary spring league is through the Netball North Harbour website.

Days & Dates:

Netball Spring league played in Term 4 2021. Primary School Spring League Competitions for 2021 TBC.

Cost: $135.00 per team
