Enrichment opportunities

 

Kapa haka

There are three Kapa haka groups running at TPS. Kipa Rangiheuea is in charge of leading Kapa haka. If you wish to have further information about these groups, please contact kipr@tps.school.nz

Whānau Kiwi and Whānau Tūī lead Kapa Haka within their team programmes. Please contact Kiwi and Tūī learning leaders for more information.

Choir

We have a number of choirs running at TPS.

Students in the Kererū team are working towards the Kids for Kids Concert at the Bruce Mason Centre in November and the APPA Festival in November. For further information about choirs at TPS please contact Vanessa Felix at vanessaf@tps.school.nz

Marimba

We run a number of Marimba Groups at TPS and each year we participate in the Marimba Festival. For further information about Marimba Groups contact Vanessa Felix at vanessaf@tps.school.nz

Ukulele

We run a range of Ukulele Groups with a beginner group being taught by an expert Year Six. Each year TPS also participates in the Ukulele Festival. For further information about Ukulele Groups please contact Vanessa Felix at vanessaf@tps.school.nz

Music Schools working at TPS

Lewis Eady School of Music

Your child can learn to play a musical instrument with us at school!

One-on-one and group lessons take place during the school day. We offer tuition for all stages of musical development – beginner to advanced.

Instrument choices include guitar, piano, keyboard and ukulele. Should there be sufficient interest, drum kit, strings, brass and woodwind lessons will also be available.

The Music Education Centre

The Music Education Centre offers lessons on Wednesdays and Fridays at Takapuna Primary. They are specialists who offer individual or group sessions with the piano, keyboard, guitar, drums, flute, violin, clarinet and saxophone.
